I was recently a "guest" at the Weston County historic jail for a couple of days. I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment I received while there during one of the most challenging times in my life. I haven't encountered law enforcement often in my life but it was not as expected. Everyone is professional, yet suspiciously kind? When you think you have no options left, Weston County Law Enforcement has shown me that perhaps I do.
I have found myself in this tiny town in Wyoming and have been treated with a respect I didn't earn and certainly don't deserve. No one should EVER fear either the PD or the Sheriff's Dept (or for that matter, the Court system). It is fair. No one asks of you what you cannot do. The system here IS geared towards rehabilitation. No criminal could possibly ask for better treatment. I don't know how on earth I got so lucky as to have a complete nervous breakdown here, but God is still looking out for me and sometimes, he presents Himself in the faces of our brave (and in my case over six weeks, tireless) faces of our local Law Enforcement. I thought I'd suitability embarrassed myself enough to move permanently away...but maybe I haven't.
Please donate to the jail, the senior center (they donate lunch and dinner to residents of the jail) and the authorities cited above. They operate daily at a deficit to serve our community and to help individuals such as myself on the way towards rehabilitation.
Thank you all for what you do, have done and continue to.
Sincerely,
Ellen Chapman Walter

While touring the west on motorcycles my friend and I pulled in at the county building, looking for a local veterans memorial. I flagged down a Sheriff’s vehicle which was being driven by Deputy Clareine ________. She spent a considerable amount of time helping us locate it on the side of the building. She was extremely helpful and clearly dedicated to the idea of service to the community. As a biker, I have to say it was the most pleasant encounter I’ve ever had with law enforcement.
