Very nicely out together museum. I grew up in Wyoming but learned history I didn't know before. There is also a great display of local animals with an interactive station where you can learn more about the animals.

Wonderful museum and cultural center! The exhibits are fascinating, beautifully displayed, and meticulously interpreted. I was pleased to see a kiosk acknowledging Euro-Americans’ treatment of Indigenous peoples and would like to see this topic expanded upon. Super friendly and informative staff. The building is extremely clean and architecturally pleasing, a nice surprise as Worland is a small town. There was a performing arts summer camp class practicing while we were there and it was delightful to hear them in the background. The gift shop has a great selection of books on archaeology, geology, and local history. I bought several books. Highly recommend!!

The Washakie Museum is a radical, quality museum, and it’s just fun to say the name!! Kids and adults will be well entertained equally. Science tips are easy to delve into here with some of the world’s best dino finds due to good old Wyo’s bony, arid Bighorn Basin. Many teams have come here because of the great pre-Pleistocene layers that are on the surface and easy to find. Relatedly, this is why Wyoming produces massive amounts of surface mined coal.

I went with my parents, one of which was inducted into the Washakie county hall of fame this evening for his personal and professional exploits and he happens to be from Washakie county, which is splendiferously fantabulous! 👍😁
