Solutions8 was a huge mistake! I'll kick myself trusting 5-star reviews for a marketing company but I’ll give everyone else fair warning.

The Good
I was matched up with an Ads manager who was personable and made an effort to respond to my questions.

The Bad
Conversion tracking for my ads was never set up well. Purchases were set up to show the number of purchases but not the value and some conversion actions were not set up at all. Sol8 couldn’t tell me whether the Tags in my Inquiry Forms were working, so instead they wanted to set up and track a single Thank You page all forms, which would leave no way to track which product the form had been submitted for.

Sol8 will say I was always making changes to the ads. I didn’t want to touch the ads but I kept finding major errors in the ads setup.
- My Negative Keyword Lists were not applied to my ads, so until I discovered this I wasted money on keywords that were irrelevant to my products.
- My Audiences were not set correctly in my ads, so until I discovered this I wasted money advertising to customers who would never buy my products.

At the end of the first month, Sol8 billed me for month two but also added in the bill for month three. After I asked them to correct the invoice, they canceled it but didn’t send me the corrected invoice until a few months later.

The Awful
I completed my full 3-month contract, even though I wanted to cancel after about a month. Once I completed the contracted period, Sol8 manager, Andrew, emailed me to insist I resume their service or pay an additional monthly management fee (for not giving a 30-day cancellation notice). I sent my PDF contract to Andrew to show there was no cancellation provision (apparently their Terms & Conditions were not included in my document). Andrew ignored my message and said he was referring me to the Sol8 legal department.

Most importantly, I lost quite a bit of money as a result of working with Sol8. We ran 7 ads with a single conversion on one ad and the others had zero, and by zero I don’t just mean zero sales, I also mean zero calls or emails. I spent approximately $15,000 on Ads and management fees… to generate sales of $2,400.

Maybe Sol8 was better in the past (before the company’s recent acquisition). This experience was awful. Solutions 8 bills itself as a “Data Company” but in my experience, they know how to create ads with Google but not how to use Google Ads to make money. One star for the Ads manager I worked with and zero stars for everything else about Solutions 8. During the past 10 years, I’ve worked with about a dozen advisors in areas of development, SEO, site optimization, and Google ads.

My honest opinion is that Solutions 8 is a collection of overworked, under-trained managers, doing mediocre work, for a company that cares more about its quarterly earnings than its customers.
