The worse S&G in the Bay Area. Do not come here!!!!!

The service here was so bad and they did not place orders for a sample we wanted. Never mind. We went to S&G at Cupertino where the guys were way more knowledgeable and helpful.

Natalie from S&G Cupertino actually called us and yelled at us. Natalie also blamed us when the contractors got the wrong home address and did not show up to a measurement appointment - even though we have it clear email evidence that we provided the correct address. According to Natalie because we went to a different S&G in the Bay Area, the contractors ended up going to a completely different address that I’ve never provided?

Absolutely do not work with Natalie and Diana here.

In the showroom, we received plenty of good advice and very little sales pressure. What we wanted was special ordered and received within the time window they anticipated. Our install was scheduled only a couple days later. I arrived onsite 10 minutes before the start of the 8-10 AM by window they scheduled, and the crew was already there getting ready. Tore out old carpet, installed in our three oddly shaped rooms (few 90 degree angles), and cleaned up by noon. Very professional.

The negative review is for the carpet installation experience.
We had S&G carpet come in for installation yesterday - Jul 26, 2023. We had purchased the carpet a couple of months back and were waiting for our renovations to complete before installing the carpet.The carpet purchase and size estimation was real smooth and Shane and Mark were super helpful.

We just finished upgrading our master bathroom and were planning to move into the bedroom post the carpet installation yesterday. However when we went into our bathroom we noticed that the carpet installers had used our new toilet and sprayed pee all over the seat, rim and the floor without even having basic courtesy of cleaning up after themselves. Imagine our shock and disgust at seeing this in our newly renovated bathroom when we had not even started using it. We had put some of our furniture in the bathroom while the carpet installation was in progress. In fact the toilet was blocked by a big paper lamp which they broke the bottom trying to get to the toilet.
I cannot convey how disgusted we feel with this unprofessional behavior!
If they needed to use a bathroom they could just have checked with either of us and we could have pointed them to our functional bathroom downstairs.
This is Disgusting and very unprofessional of SnG representatives while at work !!

The carpet also has sticky plastic like threads coming out in places. And a line is clearly visible down the master bedroom on the carpet. They also did not bother cleaning up our driveway where they were cutting up the carpet and the driveway is left filled with carpet threads.

Update as of Nov 2022:
Some consolation was provided by their satisfaction guarantee. However labor is NOT covered so we basically paid 2x the labor for the mistake that occurred. They do take back the old-new carpet and reinstalled the right color. I suggest to the future customers to CHECK the carpet on the truck when it arrives at the house. DON'T let the guys start removing the old carpet until u are sure they brought the right one to install. Their process at sales time should have included a picture of front and back of selected choice - in this age, it should be a no-brainer to do.

Anyway I've added back 2 stars - still not happy about going over budget - hopefully your experience will be better.

Sept 2022:
They installed the wrong carpet ! WTH ! No procedures to confirm what they bring is what u ordered. U don’t see the actual carpet until 2 hrs later as they are busy removing old carpet. I do NOT recommend this company.

See the difference with what I ordered (sample square) and what I got. Very disappointed. WTH !

I have used S&G a few times and you have done a great job! This time however was not great. The installer mixed cement on my driveway and got some gray stuff on the just cleaned and sealed pavers that won’t come off. Also there is some adhesive residue on the top of some of the just laid wood that won’t rub off.

Please do research when it comes to the material you are purchasing. This store definitely charges a large sum in profit margin. Shop around prior to going with s&g as your provider.

From the expert help of Gina in the showroom to the in-home measure/estimate by Edgar, to the wonderful installation crew… every step along the way was easy, and communicated clearly. No surprise charges, no sudden changes to the dates… if you want a high quality company to make your flooring perfect, S&G is the choice to make.
