A little confusing getting to truck entrance if you haven’t been here before. Pass up all of the small entrances on W Jefferson that have the “no trucks” signage and “Visitors Entrance” signs. Just past those buildings that look like houses, there is a truck entrance. It isn’t easy to see that at night-it’s not lighted up. Instead of making that hairpin turn onto Jefferson another option is to come in off 300w. It’s a narrow two lane road but I preferred it to the other turn. My load notes said overnight parking available. There isn’t a security gate so I wasn’t sure where to park. I ended up parking near the scales in front of a trailer and that worked out ok. They have different procedures for whatever trucks are doing here; I was picking up a load. Check in first at the scales office. It isn’t open until 7am. Then you proceed to the docks. If there is a line of trucks, line up on the left alongside the fence behind them. If there is no line and a dock is open, open trailer doors and back in to a dock. There is plenty of room to set up. Chock your wheels. Check in at the shipping office to the right of the three docks. They will not check you in unless you are backed in. You have to leave truck key on a hook with your dock number. You can wait in your truck or inside the office. There are portable facilities near the docks. When the light turns green, do not pull away, proceed into the office and collect your documents. I could not drive right away due to mandatory 10 so they permitted parking back near the scales. They broke the record for the fastest load I have ever seen! My appointment was at 11am but I arrived at midnight the night before, checked in at 7am. There were no trucks lined up at the dock so I went ahead and backed in. I was loaded in less than 30 minutes with over 40,000 lbs of product. Wow. I’ve always had positive experiences at the Pioneer locations but this one was amazing.
