I've never written a bad review for a library. This is a first (and I hope a last). A rigid and officious librarian hell bent on closing the library five minutes early harmed the experience. It is a library's and a librarian's responsibility to put students in particular first (and patrons too). To interfere with the last minute or two of a tutorial just one week before an AP exam is unconscionable. Rudeness, rigidity, insensitivity, and intransigence are absolutely unnecessary and have no place in a public library. Also, disabling the door opener that disabled patrons or patrons over 65 use to open heavy doors is not just unwarranted, it is illegal. Please Perry County Public Library in Tell City, Indiana! Please do not treat anyone this way again! Do not allow this to ever happen again!

Absolutely beautifully laid out library with so many resources and sections that I would've never expected them to have, being in a small town. Genealogy section, children's section that makes anyone want to be a kid again, movie and game selection that most retailers don't even have as much. Throughly enjoyed the book sale and the delightful workers that were there this past August. Will be back for sure!! *Addition* We went back this year, but now, we are Friends of the Library.

The library has very friendly and helpful staff. I spend a lot of time in the Genealogy room and consider it the best source for local history resources and information. Cindy has been a great help in my local history research needs and even the other guests who happen to be in the research room too are helpful and available to give you suggestions or instruction on equipment. Just a friendly place on all fronts.

Two of the women who work there are rude every single time I go there. They act as if it inconveniences them to have to pull out a DVD I'm renting. The one on several occasions has huffed and puffed in a rude manner and actually slammed them down on the counter. They never say hello or any greeting when I walk in with my family. They seem to only be nice to the people they know. There are 2 others that are pleasant and friendly so i always pray i get one of them so i don't have to stand there and take the attitude that's put out if they have get up from their chair. I have gotten to the point where i dread going but with the Cannelton branch not opening until the afternoon, there's no way around it if you work nights and want to get things accomplished early so you can get some rest before the night ahead of you.

Requested obituary notices for two relatives for my DAR application. Received prompt, pleasant and thorough assistance from Ms. Kaufman in the Geneology Dept. She did extra work to try and make the notices readable. So much nicer to work with than IN county offices that all say they are so busy they MAY get around to helping and then charge high fees.
