We are so thankful for Meijer and their wonderful employees. During the ice storm they ordered generators to get the store running and kept food on the shelves and gas at the pumps. Generators are expensive and we were so thankful that Meijer took our safety seriously when Walmart closed and turned off needed gas pumps and only opened when the power came back on days later.

I severely dislike shopping at this Meijer. There's usually only one cashier lane open, maybe two, which are always backed up with people with carts FULL of groceries, while other employees stand around and do nothing. How about instead of standing there watching, open another lane? You can see it's always backed up....Laziness. I usually spend way more time trying to find items than it should take. Shelves aren't stocked and in disorder. Can't find anything and can hardly ever find an employee to ask for help. ESPECIALLY in the electronics department. I have never seen anyone back there period.
And after shopping, I don't want to spend 20 minutes waiting in line because I can't go through the self checkout. How about you open an express lane so shoppers that only need a few items, don't have to wait ages for people with multiple carts full of stuff? Slow checkouts, etc. etc. Terrible.

My daughter used the pick up. She went to get her order, let them know she was there and no one came out. She waited for 30 minutes. So she called and they told her they gave her order to someone else. A $300 order. She called and spoke to someone at the store. She wanted to speak to the manager of the Meijer pickup and he wouldn’t talk to her. Then they stated charging their story. They said she left before the order was ready…a lie. Then changed it again and said that she did get the order.
She has sick babies at home and has to deal with this stores incompetence. How dare they accuse her of lying. Then they claimed they credited her cc and they didn’t.
So obviously they gave her $300 order to someone else and she has to run back and forth to get this settled. Her kids had nothing for dinner or breakfast last night as her groceries were given away.
I will never shop at this Meijer and we are blowing this up on social media.

For me, this place is a gem. Their produce department is by far the best one in Alpena. It’s always fresh and full of stocks. They also have many varieties including Asian fruits and vegetables. Never seen a white asparagus and white/Pink strawberry before, saw them first time at this Store. Don’t forget their Sushi’s, they are delicious.

I also noticed that there’s always plenty of people who shops here. Reason? It’s CLEAN, ORGANIZED, WELL STOCKED, AMAZING STAFF EVERYWHERE, GREAT PRICES and more.

Love the Meijer! Ther is one employee who I would like to shout out in particular.

I was in with my son who had an accident so we had to go to the urgent care. My phone died but I needed to let my husband know we were on our way back home, it was dark and the weather was nasty. I asked the doorman to use the phone but it didn't dial out so he let me use HIS phone so I could let my husband know what happened and where we were. We need more people like him. He was very caring and it didn't go unnoticed.

The deli guy with the mustache only, no beard isn’t very nice, every time we go there he is not very nice and if you ask for the meat cut thin he gets an attitude and cuts it thick on purpose claiming that he will cut it as thin as he can, I don’t understand why he can’t just do his job!

Super annoyed that this is now the third time that i had to wait longer than 10 minutes to check out with shop-n-go. Considering I'm scanning and bagging all my items, it shouldn't take longer than waiting in one of their ridiculously long lines.
