Continual problems in Frankenmuth for the Sunday night concert series over the past 2 years. The biggest problem is that you cant hear it if you are sitting at the top of the hill. The speakers are all aimed into the ground. Aside from that, every week there is hum, static, or its just completely unbalanced. Last night for Captured Detroit you couldn’t hear the keyboards at all for the first half of the show and the lead mic was up to high. Then the weekly static was back again for the second half of the show. Every week it’s something, but if you don’t have enough speakers to cover the audience, or don’t want to go through the bother to hang clusters to cover a hill venue, you shouldn’t be in business.

I attended the Jedi Mind trip show last night in Bad Axe Mi. and was sorry I did. I know the talent that this band possesses and it was not represented well by your company. I have been around music all my life and that isn't a short time. I know bad sound when I hear it. The band has in ears so they don't know what they sound like out front. There was canned music playing before the band went on and the tent contained about 75% of the people that were in attendance. The band went on and within fifteen minutes half of that 75% were standing outside. This ought to tell the tech that the live sound far outweighed the canned sound but apparently it didn't matter. The canned sound level was great. When the sound in the back of the 100 plus ft long tent is so loud that you can't hear someone speaking to you it's too loud. This show was also so bass heavy that the guitar and vocals were drowned out and every song sounded like the previous song. Sometimes it was that if I didn't know the song they were doing I wouldn't have recognized it. I have been to a few shows that you guys have mixed and some were OK but most were not mixed well. In a particular 25 Cent Beer Band show I attended the tech was not even near the board. He was outside having a smoke during the set. WHAT? You guys are one of the two main sound companies in the area so you may think you have business locked up. You don't. You just have a lot of equipment that the bands don't want to buy themselves. From what I have experienced in the past you need to sharpen up your game and give these bands what they are paying for. A tech that is attentive to and mixing EVERY song as well as one who understands that if your mostly young audience is telling you it's too loud by leaving the building it should be an indication that the night is getting away from you and it might end up a bad show. My real advice to you is don't be to proud to listen to the audience. They are your figurative boss. They are the ones paying for the show; not the chamber of commerce; not even the band. The band depends on you to make them sound up to their potential. This show would have been better mixed from the stage by the band members. They didn't need you.
