To be brief, I’ve benefited from the best quality care one could possibly hope for from Dr. Conti Mica and his PA partner, Chase, who meticulously went thru the imaging with us, so we could understand and “see” the issue. Dr. Conti Mica reviewed the options with us and we why previous treatments may not have been effective in a logical, very precise manner, instilling a high degree of confidence, and pleasantly answering all questions. He also clearly reviewed success probabilities of each option. Both are very caring affable folks. For my surgery, Dr. Conti Mica chose Abrazo Surgical Center at the Scottsdale Campus. Wow! I understand why. The entire staff (honestly!) was extremely pleasant, personable, and professional! All of this was so-o-o essential in calming my nerves before goin into surgery. I won’t go anywhere else for my back care. 5 stars may not be the enough.

I've had both severe back & sciatic nerve pain for the past 30 years, worsening as I get older. Eventually, after nerve epidurals, water rehab, too much resting, & meds, nothing was helping helping me have a good quality of life. Both my pain anesthesiologist & hip orthopedic surgeon suggested that it was time to have back surgery. They both recommended Dr. Michael Conti Mica.
From my first appt., Dr. Conti Mica relieved my anxiety & fears of having an Interbody Lumbar Fusion. He was very thorough in explaining every detail of the 2 day surgery. He has an excellent dr./patient report as he is kind & compassionate.
On November 7 & 8th, I had my surgery at Abrazo Scottsdale Campus. All of the hospital staff were very professional & provided excellent care. After 4 months, I feel 100% recovered. I am astonished & appreciative that I can resume all of my favorite activities, pain free. Dr. Conti Mica is such a warm, funny, & intelligent person. Ask me if I would do this surgery over again & it's a 100% YES!!

I've dealt with spinal pain for 4+ years; I put up with it for about a year before I visited the Spine Institute of Arizona. My initial doctor was Dr. Godinsky; a very good doctor!
For about 3 years I went through the preliminary procedures to alleviate back pain... rehab, injections, medication, etc. From all of this, I had little to no pain relief. I'll also note that I had no "push" from doctors to go to the next procedure or move on to a surgical solution. It was as if everything else was on the table except surgery. They left it up to me, with their guidance to try the next injection or pain relief drug.
In November '23 I had finally had enough of the pain (and degeneration of my lifestyle); I needed something more! It was at this point that Dr. Godinsky had left the practice and I was introduced to Dr. Conti Mica.

From the onset of our Patient/Doctor relationship, Dr. Conti Mica was there to listen to me and answer questions. After his initial MRI, he explained my condition and laid out the possibilities I had before me. It was at this point that I took my last shot at drug related relief with added rehab.
Again, this didn't go well!
After more consultation, on the 2nd of January (2024) we scheduled my surgery. I was very apprehensive!
Over the next month+ with advise and questions answered from Dr. Conti Mica, I was fully vested in the procedure that he was going to do. He made me feel that, in his words... "He was the "A Team" and I had nothing to be concerned about.
Now, I am 12 weeks post-op. My pain is 95% gone and that 5% I feel is more operation pain than spinal pain. My surgery was a complete success!
I've had a very positive experience with the Spine Institute of Arizona. They have a unique system of communication that affords answers to questions in a matter of minutes through their text/email system.
Everyone involved with my 3 year process was as good as I would ever want or expect. The doctors, the support staff, the hospital facility (Abrazo, Scottsdale Campus) and their staff...I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
I feel that I got very lucky to have accidentally fallen into my experience with Dr. Conti Mica; my previous really good doctor had moved.
With something as serious as spine surgery, competence is of the utmost importance. Dr. Conti Mica made me feel he was the best; I believed in his confidence.
He listened, answered questions, drew diagrams and pretty much did everything to dispel any trepidation that I might have had.
And he's a nice guy!
I wish I could find a primary care doctor and a dentist just like him.

A 10 month update:
The complete road to recovery has been long and not without questions. After 5 months, I was concerned that complete recovery was not going to happen. At 8-9 months things got much better.
I'm 10 months since the operation and my back feels wonderful. Dr. Conti Mica felt that he could solve 90% of my back problems and I actually feel 100% fixed.
