I met Brian and Joe about 5 years ago, not too long after moving to the Seattle area. At the time, we were preparing to shoot video for Epic Sciences, a bio-tech firm developing methods for identifying a single aberrant cell (typically cancer) using a simple blood test. Smokescreen was able to capture three days of content in half that amount of time, from which we were able to fashion a number of films profiling Epic’s capabilities.

Based on their “can-do” approach to things, their skills in both photography and film, and their affordability, we’ve chosen to work with Smokescreen several times since, most recently on all seven of the Aquilini wine brands, where film was especially important to communicate the majesty of the Red Mountain vineyards, which they captured during some very long, hot days in July.

Brian and Joe work tirelessly and are experts, especially with film, shot traditionally as well as with a variety of steady cams and drones. Their footage is beautiful, and that’s in spite of having to work under extremely tight production windows and, in our case, with relatively small budgets.

Best of all, they are a joy to work with, which is something I place a high value on, given the typical pressures that are inescapable in the advertising business.

Before we found Smokescreen Media, we had flown to L.A. to do videos with a professional (unnamed) production company at a studio. The quality was less than expected. When we decided to re-record over 8 hours worth of video, Joe and Brian were up to the task.

Not only were they extremely professional, but they went out of their way to work with some special situations that required them to breakdown the set and rebuild it... to get that perfect shot! They did all of this on location for us. We did not have to go anywhere.

The final product was BEAUTIFUL!!! Not only the videos, but the audio as well. We were VERY pleased with their work. On top of that, the pricing was extremely reasonable. We will be using Smokescreen Media again in the future for some additional products. Looking forward to another great experience...!!!
