We used them for years, without issue. Then our taxes became slightly more complicated, which caused them to file extension after extension, resulting in our final taxes being completed in July or August. We also received penalty notices from the IRS, which they did take care of. Their reason for this was never actively pursued by them, we always had to call to find out what’s happening. Their secretary is nice, but usually had the same response—it’s not done because the other partner isn’t finished reviewing the documents.

Also, zero discussion on potential deductions we should take advantage of, or what we could do differently next year. Feels like an expensive H&R Block, sometimes.

If you’re a business or have anything more than a standard 401k, you should consider another firm. Otherwise, they’re great.

They came recommended to me and they were friendly but I haven’t heard anything from them since dropping off taxes three weeks ago (now only 6 days until taxes deadline). The tax preparer we saw had a very messy office with stacks upon stacks of papers. I felt uncomfortable leaving our documents but with the recommendations I received I decided to anyway. The first time I called o was told they couldn’t find me or my paperwork in the system... Now, I’ve called 3 times and left a message and still haven’t received any updates. I understand it’s busy season but I do expect an update of how things are going or if further documentation is need so that I know things are moving forward. At this point I would not recommend them due to lack of communication and disorganization.
