My family and I are trying different orchards and cider mills this year since Blake's donuts and cider have gotten worse over the years. Big Red Orchard was nice! The donuts were a good size and they were soft and melted in your mouth when warm. They also have quite a huge store and what looked like a bar. My dad and brother liked the cider a lot but I would give it a 3.5/5 because it kind of tasted like Blake's and I don't really like their cider anymore. Still, a really fun place to hang out at! 9/10 will visit again!

My family goes here every year to pick apples. They have a wonderful set up and my kids love it. The cider and donuts are tasty. We look forward to returning next year!

October 2024 - came back here a year later for some good donuts and family time picking apples. A great place to visit and worth the drive.

October 2023 - we came here on a Sunday and it was busy. Not many trees in the back had apples, but they had a lot of apple trees on the property. Closer to the barn in walking distance was many rows of apple trees. In the back you could pick pumpkins, but they had many with a price point near the front door.

In the building, you could buy bags of their apples, apple sauce, hot sauce, shirts, and many other things.

Their donuts were good. The kids loved their cider. I was asked how their donuts match with Blake's and Yates. To be honest, I think all 3 have really good donuts. Yates first, Blake's and then big red. Blake's and Yates were warm, while Big Red it was not. Big red has these donut nachos and my kids loved those.

In the back or on the side of their business is a big area with picnic tables, a big hay bail pyramid. Also near there are some games to play and there was a business that was selling food. This place is by far the cleanest and up-to-date then other places that I have been to. Overall my family really loved this place. Some things maybe a 4, but just the overall experience from my family was a 5. I have 3 daughters from age 6-11.

New owners and new awesome experience! We brought our family and cousins for U-Pick apples, cider, and donuts. The kids loved the hayride! The kids zone was so much fun. Can't wait until the bar opens! The cider and donuts are soooo good!!

The newly owned big red orchard is a must-see and visit. They renovated and created an amazing atmosphere for events. The view overlooks the orchard, which would be perfect for weddings! Blakes doesn't have a comparable space like big red! They also have their own bar restaurant. Not your typical bar food, next level, I would say. We had the beef tips and nachos. Both were fantastic and delicious!

For a quick stop in and out to grab some apple cider, and some other fall goodies. This place is nice. The cider was good, the donut is just ok. But being a native Michagander I am a cider mill donut snob. I have my favorites. The is a pick you own apple orchard. I'm Not sure about how much it costs.

Like what the new owners have done. Will be interesting to see if their plans work out. Definitely worth a trip if you are in a Cider Mill mood.
