I've been a Metronet customer for about six months, and unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. Recently, an AT&T salesperson came to my door, and their service has been far better.

When I called to cancel my Metronet service, the loyalty representative kept me on the phone for nearly 30 minutes, despite my clear request to cancel just 7 minutes into the call. I also didn’t appreciate the high-pressure tactics to convince me to stay. All I needed was a straightforward process, which turned out to be as simple as taking the equipment to a UPS store—but that wasn’t made clear until the end of a long and frustrating conversation.

Before this call, I might have considered returning to Metronet in the future. After this experience, I definitely won’t.

Complete waste of time. When the service tech showed up to install my internet they informed me that something at the street had to be repaired before the could complete the install. I was also informed that someone would contact me to reschedule the install once it was repaired. After two months of waiting I contacted Metronet and was told that something at the street needed to be repaired and they would contact me to reschedule install once it is fixed. Glad I waited on hold for thirty minutes to find out what I already knew. Five months later and I am still waiting to hear from them. Needless to say I have moved on to another provider which I am very happy with. Nothing against the service techs that came to my house, they were friendly and professional but I wouldn't recommend this company unless you like being ignored and irritated.

Outrageous fees. When I canceled service and sent the equipment in the tried to say I didn't send it so they tried charging for that. Then In negotiating the final bill they said they would send $10. LIED.
I was paying over 80 for several months, he said he would hook us back up for 35 for 12 months. Could have been doing that all along. NOPE

Everyone who actually uses MetroNet will want to hear this: The customer service is S - Tier. The experience of actually receiving their technical services, from install to repair, feels centered on express quality care being provided to the people paying for their services. The internet is reliable, the team seems well treated, engineers know what they are doing. You will not find a better example of good principals put into good practice.

We were convinced we should switch from our 1/2 GB AT&T. We were told we would get 1GB speed for the same rate as what were paying currently. The install went smoothly, the tech was very prompt & courteous. However the speeds were never reached. We called the next day and worked with someone over the phone and were never able to get 1GB speed. We called the salesperson (as he told us to do if we have any troubles) and he said he would request we not get charged. We were charged the full $75.00 installation, which we were supposed to get a $25 discount on AND $16.29 for 1 day's service. To be fair I guess we should have read the fine print, it must be somewhere, stating that there were no guarantees!

I ordered Metronet. The technician came out and because I do not have an underground Junction box in my yard and in order to get to my house you have to cross both of my neighbors driveways to get the cable to me, so the technician stated he could run it from the telephone pole over to my house. Which is not the reason I was going with metronet because I wanted it below ground. I'm tired of the ice storms, taking my internet out. So be aware anybody ordering internet through Metronet. Make sure there is nothing obstructing the path between your house and their underground box.

Their price is attractive and the speed, when working, is good. However, in our six months of service with Metronet we have had more outages than we did the prior three years combined with Spectrum. Not recommended.

My install went great, and service is great! I have not had any disconnects that I would get almost daily with my cable service. Before every time we had a major temperature change or rain event our speed on cable would be reduced. We have not seen that yet. Installers were very helpful, and patient. I wanted to run fiber to a little network closet, so everything is on my main floor. They gave me a nice 75’ run and allowed me to install this in some plastic conduit and run into my closet. And all we have is a little white box to convert to CAT6 to run to the router.
