Coach Grills and Parisi warmly welcomed our family into their studio here in Midland giving us that “special treatment” feeling from the start! Where do I even start?!? I would have never imagined that Mixed Martial Arts would become such a part of our lives so quickly. My son, now known in the gym as Coach Cooper, has been a part of Cosens Teen/Adult class for a year and a half, and we can't say enough good about it.

When there was a change in coaches, I must admit that we were a little nervous, but we quickly realized there was no reason to be concerned. Coach P is absolutely amazing. The level of care he emits is beyond words. It’s evident in how he runs every single class that he truly cares about the students—not just as martial artists but as individuals.

Coach P is deeply invested in each student’s future, constantly striving to help them reach their personal best. I've seen him connect with people of all ages, from tiny beginners to seasoned adults, with the same level of enthusiasm, respect, and encouragement. He has a unique ability to meet students where they are, no matter their skill level, and inspire them to grow.

He runs the business professionally and with incredible attention to detail. Safety is always his top priority. Coach P makes it clear that the goal is to grow in skill, discipline, and confidence—not to hurt one another. He consistently emphasizes respect, self-control, and teamwork, which creates a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Coach P also goes the extra mile. Whether it's staying after class to give a student extra pointers, celebrating personal milestones, or making sure parents and families feel involved, his dedication shines through. We're so thankful to have him as part of our lives, and I can’t imagine a better role model for my son and the other students at Cosens.

And, lastly, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how amazing Coach Grills and Coach Brewer are! Every single interaction with them is upbeat and positive, uplifting the environment around them, and exuding love, energy, and care to each person they encounter. What an amazing team Cosens has!

I have been attending the Adult MMA class at Midland for over 18 months and plan to continue. Each class, the coaches find a way to teach an engaging mixed martial arts lesson and give the group a best-in-class workout while keeping the atmosphere light and fun. Each lesson and workout is different which serves as both a challenge and a way of keeping things fresh. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I enjoyed the introduction to Cosens MMA I did with Coach Grills. He was very informative, and knowledgeable in seeing where you are at with any experience you bring with you. The pricing is not as bad as some but they actually care about you as a person. Coach Grills made it clear that this is not a competing gym. No one there is in UFC or any other MMA official fighting rings. I think Cosens is a great gym for your everyday worker of any kind. No one there is looking to get hurt or hurt someone. And the Coaches will take you to whatever heights you want to get to.
