I have been looking for an accepting (of out of state people), non-denominational church for over 20 yrs. We HAD to move here for my husbands job w/Delta. We had tried 3 different churches, being called names, ignored, pushed aside, & not included. To the point where my husband said, "That's it, no more churches in the south". All because we weren't raised here. Where we came from, everyone fought to get time w/the new family. Ironically one was from Ga. We tried one in Griffin, where we 1st lived, one in Fayetteville (which was so politically ran by the wealthiest family) (?) After moving to McDonough, I tried 3 more. Nothing & no one seemed to notice me! Soo far from what we were used to in Ore. 20-30yrs ago. Everyone was friendly there. Now, the city of Portland is such a liberal sewer, we never plan to go back! I was going to a church still listed online, only to show up and find it closed. I was all dressed & ready for church, I looked one more time online. I found a small, but BIG at heart church off the Henry Co. Sheriff's parking lot, called Connecting Point. It had all we wanted. Contemporary music w/band & awesome message! That was almost a yr ago, & we both go when my husband isn't flying. I go alone the rest of the time! Pastor Randy got us envolved in an app w/sooo much to it, including reading bible in one year!! It caused me to look up our fav Christian rock/pop bands we listened to in the 90's w/our kids. Im now hooked on Toby Mac (his words pack a punch!), the bible app, & have for 1st time in over 20yrs, have found Peace, most importantly "JOY"!! I spread that joy every day like Confetti. Doesn't cost a dime to bring a smile or Joy to someone's life! That's my goal, to "be the light" in this dark & ugly world! It's free, & helps me too! I don't hold any bitterness anymore to the South. It only hurt me. We still get pushed aside, called names, etc... but my JOY keeps me going everyday!

Connecting Point Church is a place that I get to call home. From the moment I arrived there, everyone was kind and caring, and on a level more than just a standard hello and smile. I always feel accepted and loved, no matter how I arrive to church. "Come as you are," is the best way to describe the atmosphere. I love this place, and I come down from college to visit every time I get the chance. I recommend this place for all who seek the Lord, desire good fellowship, and want a place to be comfortable and to call their home church.
