Update: I am now finished with my corrective liners and had a chip fixed in my tooth. I am so happy with my new and improved smile!

My bottom teeth were crowded and I always had issues with tartar even though I floss daily (I really do!). Because of my bite, my teeth were hitting wrong and caused a chip. I am so happy that I got this corrected.

Dr. Lin and staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

I had such a good first appointment with Dr. Lin. His office is so peaceful. I immediately felt relaxed right when I walked in. Dr. Lin is friendly and very thorough. He explains your case very well. His staff is super friendly too. I look forward to continued care here.

It is rare to find a dentist who is bilingual speaking (mandarin) in the Bay Area who has impeccable experience in both general and prosthodontists dentistry. Dr Kevin Lin acted very professionally and patiently listening to my concerns and was able to repair my tooth. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Kevin Lin to anyone if you need of any dental work and his office is conveniently located in Sunnyvale with lots of parking. Not to mention her staff and office is very nice too.

At first glance, Dr. Lin’s office looks impressive — sleek, state-of-the-art equipment, walls lined with certifications, super nice receptionist, and glowing online reviews. But don’t let appearances fool you. My experience here was anything but professional, and I would strongly caution anyone against choosing this office.

Let me start with the billing nightmare. Back in May 2024, the office confirmed they would retract a claim for a service I was billed for but never received. Yet, by November 2024, I noticed on my dental bill that the claim still hadn’t been corrected. I emailed the office again, and they politely assured me they were working on it. A month later, with nothing resolved, I called Delta Dental to follow up. Imagine my surprise when Delta Dental told me they had never received any communication from Dr. Lin’s office about the retraction.

To get clarity, I arranged a three-way call with Delta Dental and the dental office. On the call, Dr. Lin’s staff claimed they had *faxed* the retraction but Delta Dental said they saw no proof of any such fax in my file. When pressed, they abruptly hung up, saying they needed to speak with the person who supposedly sent the fax. I had to call them back for further details, only to be met with vague explanations. Afterward, Delta Dental informed me that it was strange the office chose to fax the retraction in the first place (if they had faxed it), especially since they had access to an online portal where corrections could have been filed quickly and securely. Retractions take a maximum of 30 days to process, yet here we were, seven months later, still waiting.

The irony of this situation? The same office that dragged its feet on a retraction had managed to bill Delta Dental *the same day* for the original service. In all my years dealing with healthcare providers, I’ve never seen a claim filed so fast. To add insult to injury, I also had to request a manual refund for the additional charges they placed on my credit card for the service I didn’t receive. The entire ordeal was exhausting and unnecessary, making it painfully clear that this office prioritizes speed in billing over accuracy or accountability.

Unfortunately, the service side was just as disappointing. I was referred to Dr. Lin by my general dentist, who had been managing my implant care. Before the appointment, I sent over my full dental implant history so the office could review it in advance. Since I trusted my general dentist’s referral, I waited a week for this appointment, believing Dr. Lin would be prepared. This was 1 week without a front tooth, ladies and gentlemen. 🫢

5 minutes into the consultation, however, Dr. Lin informed me there was nothing he could do because he doesn’t work with zirconia implants. This was baffling, as my records clearly outlined my implant was zirconia, and the office had plenty of time to review them before scheduling me. What’s worse, Dr. Lin claimed he had ā€œresearchedā€ my implant before the appointment, but I later discovered he misidentified my implant model entirely. His diagnosis and recommendation were completely wrong, which could have seriously impacted my dental health had I followed his advice.

Thankfully, I sought out other dentists who correctly identified my implant model and provided the care I needed. But this misdiagnosis demonstrated a glaring lack of attention to detail and professionalism. It’s one thing to admit you can’t treat a specific case, but it’s entirely different — and unacceptable — to misdiagnose someone because of careless research.

Looking back, this entire experience has been a wake-up call. I also fired my general dentist for referring me to Dr. Lin in the first place. From the mishandling of my billing to the complete failure in patient care, Dr. Lin's office consistently failed to meet even basic standards of professionalism.

If you’re considering Dr. Lin, save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. Appearances can be deceiving. You have been warned.

Dr Lin adjusted my implant, which was put in by another dentist abroad. That's very valuable for me because most of my implants are foreign so I can't very well go out of the country every time a screw needs tightening. His office and Dr Lin we're very friendly, courteous and accommodating. A good experience except for the fact that he is so far away from me and requires a long drive in traffic. But that can't be helped

Beware. Dr. Lin will NOT assist a patient with all-on-four implants that he didn't sell you himself. The dentist who created my all-on-four implants retired without giving his patients a referral. My lower bridge was functional and I only needed to have the small bridge screws tightened. Dr. Lin did this for me once, for an exorbitant fee.

Several months later, I requested his help again when ONE screw was loose. He told me he would only remove the entire bridge (for my "safety"), leaving me without a lower bridge, and he refused to discuss options with me on the phone, even though I am disabled and going to his office for a conversation was truly a hardship for me.

His office manager was supposed to call me back with potential options, such as a temporary bridge, and quotes for various options, but even after several requests over the course of a week, she didn't call me back. Dr. Lin also did not return calls, but passed messages through his employees that he would only take the bridge out and would not put it back in.

Throughout this ordeal I have had panic attacks over the prospect of being unable to eat or speak properly from having my bridge taken out. Being told you will have to subsist on a liquid diet indefinitely because of one loose screw is extremely stressful, which is a situation the doctor either didn't understand or care about. To this day I have not heard back from him.

I paid $58,000 for all-on-four titanium bridges with porcelain crowns, and Dr. Lin expected me to simply discard my lower bridge and buy a new one from him. The bridge functioned perfectly when the screws were tightened. There was no need to replace it except for the doctor to make a sale. I cannot afford a new bridge, and I certainly won't discard a bridge that has worked well for me for five years without a single problem.

Dr. Lin does not believe that patients have the RIGHT to be involved in their own dental care decisions. Because he refused to help me with the top screws that secured the bridge, my bridge became loose and pulled out two of the IMPLANT screws from my jaw! I will now have endure a more painful procedure and possibly bone grafts due to his greed and lack of compassion.

Great doctor! After my #8 tooth (the one on the front) broke, I called Dr. Lin's clinic and they booked my appointment the very same day. He was able to make an essix retainer using my own tooth and it took him two days only!
Thank you Dr. Lin and his staff, I can smile again!
